How we collect, use and look after your personal data.
Who we are
Music Act Pte Ltd (UEN 199900629G) is a music school in Singapore, with centres at Choa Chu Kang and Hougang. This policy explains how we handle personal data, in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect what you give us: your name, mobile number and email address, along with anything you tell us about the student, the instrument, your preferred centre and your message.
When you browse the site, our analytics and advertising tools may also collect technical information such as your device and browser, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through cookies, described below.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, and to arrange lessons, instrument purchases or studio bookings.
- To keep a record of our conversation with you, so we can help you properly.
- To understand which of our pages and advertisements bring families to us, so that we spend our marketing budget sensibly.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and manage enquiries:
- A form service, which delivers your enquiry to our inbox.
- A customer relationship system, which stores your enquiry and helps us follow it up.
- Advertising and analytics platforms, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which help us measure how our advertising performs.
These providers handle data on our behalf, and some of them are located outside Singapore. Where data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to see that it receives a comparable standard of protection. We may also disclose data where the law requires us to.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them to keep the site working, to understand how visitors use it, and to measure our advertising.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though our measurement will be less accurate. You can also change your advertising preferences with Meta directly, through your account settings.
Messages from us
If you send us an enquiry, we will reply to it. We will only send you marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them, and you can ask us to stop at any time by replying to any message, or by writing to us using the details below.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, after which we delete them or remove anything that identifies you. Where you become a student with us, we keep records for as long as we need them for your lessons and for our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act, you may ask us:
- for a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
- to correct anything that is wrong or out of date,
- to withdraw your consent to our using it.
Write to us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you withdraw your consent, we may no longer be able to provide something you have asked us for.
Looking after your data
We limit access to personal data to the people who need it for their work, and we use established service providers with their own security measures.
